Who remembers Walter Hottle Bottle?

And who's as scared by pictures of him now as I am??  Whenever I make my daughter a hot water bottle I call it Walter and she doesn't really know why.  I looked up Walter on the 'net, I think he was in Playhour comic in the late 60's, and here he is!  Blimey, it's no wonder I'm a nervous nelly having to look at images like that.  What with that and Tenniel's drawings for Alice in Wonderland I don't know how I ever slept peacefully!

The Alien Illusion scarf is finished!  Please excuse the awful photos as DH has the good camera in the US, and I am also a  bad photographer.

See, it's just a green and black stripey scarf until you see it at the right angle, and then it's got alien faces on.  Ooh, I'm happy with this one

I didn't put my face in the picture as I need a haircut. I have an appointment booked for 6 weeks after the last one but at 4 weeks it already needs trimming.  My hair grows too fast.

That happened to me twice yesterday!!!! you can tell I was in pain and lacked concentration:(
What the comment should have said was something like
"I knew a few little boys called Walter when I was little and isn't it odd that the name never became popular again like Jack, George or Samuel. lol

I think I added something else but I can't remember now;)

I know what you mean. Walter makes me think of Hilda Baker saying, "Have you been Walter?" Do you remember that? Oh dear me, what a blast from the past. It is odd though that some come back and some don't.

I don't think I remember Walter but maybe I do because the names rings a bell - did that make sense?

Maybe it's because I've always refered to them as holt walter bottles but always thought it was a play on words rather than based on any character!!

I used to have nightmares about Walter Hottle Bottle and King Neptune. Can't remember the story or any pictures or why I had nightmares 35 years ago. Would love to read that story again, maybe it will help me realise why I am who I am.
