I was making my own kids hot water bottles tonight and i ALWAYS refer to them as 'walter'. (have done for years) after walter hottle bottle. When I did a google search and saw that someone else called them walter too, I thought "how bizarre"! The image I had of him in my mind was nothing like he actually looks in the illustration though.
I wonder just how many children of the '60's remember this little guy.

I used to have nightmares about Walter Hottle Bottle and King Neptune. Can't remember the story or any pictures or why I had nightmares 35 years ago. Would love to read that story again, maybe it will help me realise why I am who I am.

Surely if Victor Kyam of Remmington Razor fame were still with us he .."would like it so much.." he'd "..buy the company." Although they looked like false teeth to me... Well I'm sure he could find a use for the sonic-care toothy brushy... Personally I prefer a manual method for all my ablutions not trusting my more sensitive parts to malevolent machines. Of course you remember that I am machines have a odd relationship, being that they love to malfunction upon me. Most recently I became stuck for an hour in a revolving door, my discomfort was compounded by the most urgent need for number twos and I was forced to wait in the heavily methane infused atmosphere until released...

This leads me to my thought for the day.

Farts are like children, you hate other people's but have a strange relish for your own.

Maybe it's because I've always refered to them as holt walter bottles but always thought it was a play on words rather than based on any character!!

I know what you mean. Walter makes me think of Hilda Baker saying, "Have you been Walter?" Do you remember that? Oh dear me, what a blast from the past. It is odd though that some come back and some don't.

That happened to me twice yesterday!!!! you can tell I was in pain and lacked concentration:(
What the comment should have said was something like
"I knew a few little boys called Walter when I was little and isn't it odd that the name never became popular again like Jack, George or Samuel. lol

I think I added something else but I can't remember now;)

Laptop batteries, don't ask. Mine was down to only holding 58 mins. Toshiba's genuine replacement was bloody astronomical in price so I got mine from a place called 'batterystreet' who are on Ebay. One third the price.

You silly, don't be sorry :) I haven't read anyone's blogs for a while but last I read you certainly looked as if it had all turned out beautifully in the end. Hope so after all that stress! More congratulations to you both and Happy New Year!
No, I think emailing Phil would be a bit much for him, lol. It would have been nice if all the old faces had been blogging but things have to change of course.

I'm not bad thanks mate. Getting older all the time but aren't we all? ;) Life is dull with all this home educating. Maybe that won't be for much longer but we'll see. At least there's always knitting! :P

Now, I think Alisdair's babe's coming in a week or two so I'm looking forward to hearing that's all ok :D

I can't even imagine the stress you're going through, I'll go and see if there are updates on your blog in a mo. Don't feel guilty - I just sometimes want things to stay the same but that's not possible or good, I'm just a silly arse ;)
